The Lunch Box has been a Fort Worth institution and family owned business since 1974. Tucked in the inner courtyard of a Camp Bowie shopping center, long time customers know this is where to find filling sandwiches, quiches, salads and some of the best pie I have ever had.
After many years of operation on Camp Bowie, owner Immy Khan is ready to expand the concept of The Lunch Box and introduce his family business to others across the Metroplex, with the opening of a food truck.
The truck will have a menu that focuses on the best sellers from the restaurant including by the scoop or sandwiches filled with chicken salad, tuna salad, egg salad, pimiento cheese, turkey and cheese or ham and avocado. The Lunch Box truck will also offer a quiche of the day, fruit plates and gourmet cookies. The chicken salad from The Lunch Box is absolutely delicious and will be my go to meal choice on most visits to the truck; but the first item that I am going to order is the coconut ice box pie. For those who aren't coconut fans, the truck will also offer a chocolate ice box pie. Trust me, if you have not had The Lunch Box's pies, go ahead and hit the gym today, you will want a piece or two when this truck rolls out at the end of this week!
Look for The Lunch Box truck to be operating at the Food Park at Thistle Hill on Friday, May 3. While the truck will primarily be operating in Fort Worth, follow The Lunch Box on Facebook and Twitter to find out daily locations or email info@eatatthelunchbox.com to schedule them to come to your location.
